The title must have rang bells in your head and some of you will be scratching your head to recall where the hell have I seen it but a lot of you at the first look will be knowing of it. Ok let me end the surprise and tell you that this is the line on the homepage of FACEBOOK(go and take a look). Now don't tell me that you don't know what is Facebook because the . If you really don't then don't ask it from anyone because you could get to hear scolding that would even ashamed murderers , terrorists, rapists and all those charged with felony. No, have faith on yourself because you are clear and you only are unaware of term FACEBOOK. It is like you are asking somebody how to put on pants.
That's enough of it. Facebook is a serious offender and is robbing people of their precious time. It has almost cut the day half for most of us and has affected our language. I myself who is not so active on Facebook cause you will never see my comments or updates spend quite a lot of time reading the nonsense(no offense intended) posted by my friends and I don't know how but it makes me happy from inside.
Now let’s coin a new term "FABDICTION" which is my term for Facebook addiction. Fabdiction is the fastest growing addiction on our planet with already 500 million suffering from it and it growing by leaps and bounds. The main cause is the title line that "It's free, and always will be". It is first one that comes free and is not influenced by inflation or government policies and you have the guarantee of future that it will never be priced. This is the first addiction which have gained control over the most influential people of the world, your role models, your so called gods like film stars, bureaucrats, leaders etc.
People are contributing to it with their applications and games. One thing unique about fabdiction is that you can't die from it nor are any physical effects of it. Adding to that is that Facebook has to do a continuous work to keep up fabdiction because people easily get bored with one thing so they have to come up with new ideas and new ways to keep them engaged. It is a mental game. What is worse is that FACEBOOK is hiring people from the top engineering institutes like IIT's on hefty pay packages to continue fabdiction.
Looking at the numbers we will soon need centers to free people of fabdiction so this is a good business prospect for the future. There will be no dearth of customers as by the time we will need those centers half of the people will be fabdicts so those interested in entrepreneurship can gear up for this and start doing their calculations as that time is not far away.
Now I know that after reading all this I am sure that Mark Zuckerberg would be eager to get his hands on me and beat the hell out of me. So lets look Facebook as the future of the world as the biggest organization of the world with Mark Zuckerberg as the wealthiest person on the planet and everyone else on his toes.
Seeing the popularity I think that in the coming 25 years or so almost everyone will be done on Facebook. Facebook will eliminate the need for many industries as facebook applications will become smart enough. For instance:-
1. No need of birth certificate as registration on the Facebook after birth within 15 days will be mandatory. So if you exists then you have to be on Facebook.
2. There will be no needs of going to market for gifts as you can send everything from Facebook using application. What you have to do is to visit the application and select whatever you wanna send and the company behind the application will deliver it for you. You will have the e commerce integrated with Facebook.
3. You will no longer need a newspaper or news channels as news on Facebook spreads faster that any other medium.
4. No need to have exams in the examination hall. Every thing will be on Facebook. For ex for architectures the exam will be play games like cityville , farmville and you will be judged how well you can design a city of a farm, for computer engineers exam will be to design the most smart facebook app etc.You can come up with more ideas related to your own fields.
5. Definition of celebrity will change. The most likes, comments you have on your status and updates the more popular you are.
6. There will be groups of every kind of people like sports persons , criminals, leaders, teachers, groups based on castes etc. The more points or levels you have crossed in Mafia Wars will determine how big criminal you are.
7. You will no longer need phones as Facebook is gearing up to introduce voice and video chat, video conferencing . So throw away your phones .You can do much more stuff on Facebook that on your phone.
8. Face book will replace astrology as it will predict your future with applications like "death calculator", "how you will Die", "know your life partner", "who will kill you", "What kind of bf/gf you are gonna end up with" etc.. So this is great help know your murder and kill him/her before he/she does. You don't have to look around for wife or girlfriend as you will know it but it is break the hearts of people for whom there is no match as predicted by Facebook application as you can't question it. It always tells the truth.
9. Your profile will become your resume/CV. Companies will shortlist you on that basis. So start working on your profile and gain edge over others.
10. The will be no need of marriage portals as Facebook tells it for free by analyzing your profile. If you want to go on your own you have application like measure your anger level, your smile, your sex appeal, your values etc to judge somebody. So go on and trust Facebook Apps.
11. Forget Gmail because email will also be integrated with Facebook. So no need to visit any other website because you can find everything on Facebook.
Now that facbook will become your life it has to come out of a small computer screen as you can't expect anyone to sit around a laptop or computer for ever. So there will giant touch screens of the size of your wall installed in your home with Facebook open on it always and small portable gadgets for the purpose of traveling. Also there will be need of security for your account so there will be not just password but fingerprint ,retina scan and many more things will evolve in future.
Now since Facebook will reflect so much about a person but its name does not justify it so lets just rename it as EARTHBOOK,EARTHFACE ,WORLDBOOK etc..
All of these may look to be fun but i am sure something among those is going to happen in the near future.
I could think of only these many uses of Facebook but I am sure that there is no dearth of new ideas and application.So I leave it up to you to think and tell me how Facebook can help us.
